Overview
Come to SFA and prepare yourself physically and mentally for the Ontario Fire Administration Inc. (OFAI) Skills Assessment with this regimented single-day course. Many departments in the Province of Ontario require prospective firefighters to complete and succeed in this standardized testing, as a component of the pre-employment screening and application process. It is demanding testing that assesses candidates’ physical and cognitive abilities, including strength, endurance, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, to ensure they meet the requirements for the job of a firefighter. These tests are standardized and validated to ensure fair and consistent assessment of all candidates. Here at SFA, we can help you to familiarize with the testing components, practice your skills, and best prepare to become successful when you undergo testing.
Utilizing our top grade indoor/outdoor training facility, you will participate in a hands-on practice of each of the 6 skills of the Stage 3 Practical Skill process of the testing. Your instructor will communicate key performance requirements and provide ample opportunity for you to master each skill. This course is designed for graduates of: the Ontario Pre-service Fire curriculum, NFPA 1001 Private Career Colleges, International training schools, and Active Firefighter.

Certification
There is no certification for this single-day course. This day will best prepare you to be successful when undergoing your OFAI testing.

Please note: if this course is not filled to 75% capacity 7 days before it is scheduled to begin, it may be cancelled. In the event of course cancellation, you will be provided adequate notice and a full refund.
Accommodations may be available upon request for the duration of your program. If you are staying for one or two nights, the flat rate for accommodations is $50 plus taxes. If you are staying for three or more nights, the fee is $100 plus taxes, total. Regardless of how long you are on campus, your fee will not exceed $100 plus taxes. This fee grants you access to your bunk, a communal kitchen, parking, and washroom/shower facilities.
